Cathy Finne, owner and artistic director of Studio 1014 has been a leader in dance in Jacksonville for the past five years.  She brings over thirty years experience to the dance industry.   As a student dancer Cathy received training from world renowned choreographers such as Frank Hatchett, Joe Tremaine, Karen Hebert and Gus Giordano. She continues her training during the summers by traveling to New York & Los Angeles to study with the country’s leading dance professionals. Cathy is an award winning dancer and choreographer; she has won numerous awards all over the country.

Mrs. Finne is a native to Neptune Beach where she attended high school at Fletcher High and graduated at the top of her class. Cathy then attended college at Jacksonville University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Dance. While at JU Cathy was awarded such honors as Jazz Dancer of the Year and Choreographer of the Year. After graduating college, Cathy moved to Orlando where she was employed at Walt Disney World. She performed in many shows around Disney theme parks. Cathy is an active member of Dance Masters of America, an internationally recognized dance organization. She is certified to teach Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-hop, Tumbling and Musical Theater. Cathy has also choreographed several musicals for Community Theater.
 

Students of Studio 1014 have received scholarships to The Roc School, The Joffery Ballet, Tremaine Dance Conventions, Dance Masters of America as well as college scholarships. Cathy has also trained many pageant winners.
 

In addition to directing Studio 1014 Cathy began a dance program for The WEE School in Neptune Beach. This program is designed for students’ ages 18 months to 5 years old. This program is available for students of the pre-school. Time spent at the WEE school is time donated by Cathy and the staff of Studio 1014.
 

Cathy is also the Artistic Director of Studio 1014 Dance Elite, a non-profit competitive dance team within Studio 1014. These dancers travel the country participating in regional and national competitions each year. These dancers also donate their time to various community events throughout the year. These dancers have participated in The Opening of the Beaches Parade, Rock for the Cure, Art in the Park and National Dance Week performances just to name a few. Studio 1014 Dance Elite dancers have been invited to perform in such events as The Nutcracker Ballet, The Toyota Gator Bowl, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Walt Disney World, Super Bowl XXXIX and on Channel 4 "The Local Station. These dancers have been invited to perform in such cities as Las Vegas and New York City as Youth Dance Ambassadors.
